The Kingdom of Italy
· This historical country has been one of my huge interests since 2022. I find its characteristics, events involved, flag, and etc really investing. This year, I somehow wrote the story of the country with 1100+ words. P.S. This has so many grammar errors and typos cause I typed way too fast.(and is also NOT worth your time /hj.) "so basically imma talk about the background, it's predecessor the kingdom of sardinia wanted to unify the state inspired by revolutions jn 1830s and 1820s probably against the concert of Vienna and went through 2 Italian war of independence against the Austrian empire. In the second one the French helped the Italians. 2 years after the second war ended; kingdom of sardinia changed its name to the kingdom of italy ruled by Victor emmanuel I who ruled italy from 1861 until his death in 1872. The UK and Switzerland were one of the firsy countries to recognise the state. In 1866, italy declared war on Austria with the help of prussia, the Italians won the battle and signed a treaty with Austria afterwards. In 1870, italy invaded the papal states, this also resulted in an Italian victory as well,the papal states fell until the lateran treaty of 1929 and Rome as its capital city after Florence; this completed the unification of italy. 1 decade after; like the other European powers, the kingdom of italy wanted to build its own colonies and be an empire, so it's target to colonise tunisia; but there was smth wrong, the French also want to colonise Tunisia so their relations to each other are strained(known as the slapoftunis). But the French successful forced to make protectorate state on Tunisia, and the Italians were curious(?) This results on looking for an alliance against France, when italy probably got better relations relations Austria-Hungary; Germany decided to form an alliance between the 3 named Triple Alliance, although itlay and Austria are already allies their relations are still kinda strained for a reason. In 1887, italy invaded the Ethiopian empire to colonise both Ethiopia and Eritrea, the war ended in 1889 with a compromise as well and got eritrea, the treaty promoted friendship and i forgot, but there was a problem; in one of the articles, there was a mistranslation, the Italian version said it would make a protectorate over Ethiopia which Ethi-opia would disapprove of. After that their relations strained and started another war in 1895, in the battle of adwa; the Ethiopians won the battle and italy's plan was thwarted. Oh i forgot to say that umberto was the 2nd king from 1878 until his assassination in 1901 nvm Victor evangel didn't die in 1872 my bad guys. O anyways let's continue! After the war ethiopia the the war; itlay and Ethiopia signed a treaty. In 1900 Victor emanuel II became king after umberto I died. In 1911 3 years until ww1 started, the kingdom of italy wanted Libya and invaded the ottoman empire, in the first battle; it was a success but it got into a diplomatic dispute with its ally Austria-hungary which resulted on protests from Austria-hungary and italy delivered a formal apology to Austria-hungary in October 7 1 month after the war,in 1912 the war ended the italianate successfully won the war which humiliated the ottomans and gained Libya, and the dodecanese islanfs. In 1914 ww1 started, Austria Hungary asked guide from Germany but not from Italy. Italy said to its allies that it would promise to be neutral in the war and just say that the alliance is for defensive purposes I think, until the triple entente (5he opposite of triple alliancr) tempted italy by a treaty that promises itlay to give territories from the austro Hungarian empire, and italy agreed to join the allied powers. Actually italy secretly signed a treaty w France and probably w the UK in the early 1900s so really Berlin and Vienna wouldn't know that they were abandoned dbybits ally. In 1915 italy joined ww1 in the side of the allies and declared war on Australia Hungary in May, and Germany in 1916, in the itlaian front; italy fought 12 battles in the same river (i think?) Against Austria Hungary; most of the battles were won by italy, 3 inconclusive, and 3 won by Austria Hungary. In the battle of capproretto italy was insanely defeated by Germany and Austria, afterwards the allies would help italy in battles, and they succedded, after that the Kingdom of Italy (which represented the allied powers) and Austria-Hungary signed a treaty which was the armistice of vill..somwthjngbruhthisisalongnametoforget ohits villa giusti. After that italy had strained relations from Serbia probably because of the lands of Austria Hungary that both of them wanted, but in 1920 they signed a treaty that cooled down their relations. In 1922 there was a new government in the kingdom of italy which was a ditactorship under the monarchy leaded by bentio mussolini, mostly known as fascist italy not cool man..., in the same decade it signs 2 treaties with the Serbia and assisted Albania in a war made treaties witb it several times making it its de factor protectorate. Next decade when it's relations was strained with Germany(it even supported Austria agnist Germany in occupation), in 1936, signed a treaty with Germany. In the same decade italy made intervention in the Spanish civil war, and 5 months before ww2 started italy invaded Albania and succeeded making Albania its protectorate until the end of its fascist regime. 1 month after that itlay signed an alliance treaty with germany and and 4 months after that ww2 started and italy joined the axis powers. In 1941 fascist italy invaded both France and the UK joining ww2, with the help of its ally Germany it succeeded, gaining some lands of France. In 1943 there was an election in italy to decide who to replace bonito mussolini, and piertoiforgotsorryineedtosearchitup ohits pietro badoglio replaced him, and he was responsible to sign armistice with the allies which left the axis powers. After that Germany was furious and inbreded itlay I mean invaded what the flip they're like first cousin once removed in my au with the help of some allies and succeeded, Germany also made a puppet state called the itlian social Republic or salo Republic smth like that yk leaded by benito mussolini. After that civil war began The Kingdom of Italy obviously opposed the Italian social Republic with the support of the allied powers and a group helping named Ithe italian resistance. The point of the civil war is tooooooooooooooo resist italy from nazism and fascism which succeeded in 1945, oh wowie! After ww2 ended italy ended in a.. how to explain this! Italy was in a bad.. mood?nono I mean oh yes destroyed economy like Japan and Germany pretty much in a bad state, honestly in 1946 Vxitor emanuel ii abdicated and his son umberto ii became king for a short moment until the country ended. The country ended due to a petition? I mean referendum to abolish the monarchy which has the most votes of the republic, afterwards it became the Republic and the present italy is the kingdom of italys successor! The end."
